This past weekend at the NAC, we had over 30 kids in our two 1hr 7 week long clinic. You know what is outstanding about this? We put little effort into getting people in the class. We put an ad in the community rec booklet, and kids signed up. Its that easy.

I challenge any of you to do the same thing, and if you do, I will buy you taco bell.

about 1/4-1/3 are returning. which is also good. I just wish I had more time to work with them on technique.

Tony,

Are these kids playing state singles? If not, any specifics as to why (expense, membership dues, travel issues..etc.)? I did not notice any junior division(s) like 10 & under, 12 & under etc.

I can answer that for you quick Mike. We have 16 Juniors playing in the non-skill divisions. What we did was to take all the Juniors in the J10, J12, J14 etc...and split them into two groups. A junior beginner group and a Junior Intermediate group. We removed the big hitters from these two groups ie: Jordan Barth, Same Bredenbeck, Tanner Gross, Jade Hemiller, and Jake Bredenbeck respectively and offered other divisions for them.

Of the 16 Juniors playing, 5 of them are in their first ever tournament and several others are in their first ever State Tournament. The MRA picked up the USRA memberships for first time Juniors and will formalize this process for next season. This was done on the fly for this year.

Hopefully we can continue this trend going forward.
